Free Public Events in the Perth Central Business District:

–          Elizabeth Quay day and night festivities from 27 January – 5 December : visitors can explore a range of displays including a Chinese lantern wall, a Giant six metre Golden Rooster and other Chinese zodiac animals which are also illuminated at night, photographic exhibition and story-telling, free public events include tai chi and kung fu lasses, traditional Chinese folk arts and crafts, children’s activities, calligraphy and lion and dragon dancing. Chinese cuisine will also be available to purchase

–          Western Australian Museum Celebration of Chinese culture and heritage from 28 January to 15 February – displays and activities celebrating Chinese culture and heritage, including children’s activities focused on the Chinese zodiac

–          Forrest Place Hawkers Market on Friday 3 February – authentic Asian food stalls is offered and performances for Chinese New Year throughout the evening 4.30 – 9.30pm. The markets will also see the transformation of one of Perth’s iconic heritage buildings into a backdrop to Chinese zodiac spectacular light show to music from 6.00pm

–          China Musings fashion exhibition at Brookfield Place from 30 January to 10 February.
